Just another question I've been pondering.
Is it correct to believe the in-game rating of each sire/dam sire is valued by the level at which they bottom out with BP value? The lowest cost BP cost they will go.

The lowest cost BP cost they will go. I don't think it's strictly based on the in game rating. The lowest cost they will go to is also related to how the sire has performed in the sim. Once the sire starts producing stakes/ graded runners it's lowest cost rises. This is evident in the Japanese sires. A lot of them are quite decently rated for their cost (you can breed yellow rated 2yos from 10bp sires quite often with a good DS/DDS) and they quite often dip to 10bps but once I've found some good ones and produced stakes/graded from them they never go back down to 10. Kitasan Black is one that used to go down to 10-20 or so but now that he's produced a few graded winners his price stops dropping in the high 100s.

I believe you are right Astin, but I think it is connected more to the percentage of wins and ITM and maybe a little to do with speed. which is all attached to winning ! I have a sire I use from Japan also " SATONO ARES (JPN) " out of "DEEP IMPACT" last year was getting him for 10 BP Started winning with him he went up to 50 BP (still cheap) won a grade 3 with him and now up to 200 BP.
