I would like to know how long a horse should be trained after they've been at the farm for a while.
It is my understanding that newly minted horses are ready to run, but what about the piglets that emerge from the barn after a sabbatical or timeout?
Is a week long enough? Two? A month?

Don't know about others but I tend to give them 2 weeks training when they come out of barn.

Three weeks is always my target off the farm. Never less than 18 days, but only if I find the perfect race.

learned this from Desert dog. If you enter a race right after they come back from a race they will automatically train to sharp for the next start. I find that 2 weeks ahead is the minimum for this to work every time.

I never let mine go piggy unless Im done with them How do they not go piggy at the farm? Do you mean you never farm your horses? All my horse that are at the farm always go piggy, that's the nature of the farm. The ones not at the farm are in training whether they're entered yet or not. I'm just referring to those who have just come back from the farm.

Yes I do not use the farm ! in that way If I want to hold more horses I make a new stable, I find I can concentrate better on 10 who are in the mix then 20 who go all the way to piggy and then I bring them back. I could be wrong on this strategy and it hurts me in monthly contest points. I use the farm to stick 3 yo males who may be done on the track but I want to use in breeding
